"We are actively developing and funding clinical trials with human subjects in accordance with guidelines set forth by the United States’ Food and Drug Administration, the European Medicines Agency, and the International Council on Harmonization (ICH/GCP). During this process we are training therapists to administer psychedelic drugs in therapeutic settings."

 

Maps was founded one year after MDMA was criminalized for both recreational and theraputic purposes.

The Mission:
- to treat conditions for which conventional medicines provide limited relief—such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pain, drug dependence, and anxiety and depression associated with end-of-life issues—by developing psychedelics and marijuana into ßprescription medicines;
2) to one day see the building a network of clinics where treatments can be provided;
3) to provide the public with honest information about the risks and benefits of psychedelics and marijuana.

The project started in 1999 when over 50 users or former users of the British Mental healthcare system were filmed talking about their experiences of care between the 1930s and 1985. The interviews are now kept in the archives of the British Library, and are a valuable educational resource for anyone wishing to learn about institutional life from an inside perspective.
